Technology Apprenticeship Program

Program Agenda

March Program kicks off with an informational webinar featuring experts from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE).
April Participants attend NAB Show in Las Vegas. Activities will be planned to allow participants to interact with leaders in broadcast technology. Topics include current trends in broadcast technology, career opportunities for broadcast engineers and broadcast engineering 101.
May Participants are prepped for apprenticeship placement while studying for the SBE Certified Broadcast Technologist (CBT) exam.
June-July Participants complete a two-month, hands-on apprenticeship at a radio or television station. The NAB Leadership Foundation will work to secure station placement for attendees in their region.
August Participants take the CBT exam while attending educational webinars on various broadcast engineering and technology topics
September Program concludes at NAB headquarters in Washington, D.C., where participants will spend two days learning from NAB’s Technology department, active broadcast engineers and the Leadership Foundation to prepare for careers as broadcast engineers.
