The Celebration of Service to America Award recipients are selected through a competitive call for entries. The Service to America Call for Entries will open on January 1, 2017. The deadline for submitting entries is Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

For its extraordinary focus on community service, Southwest Airlines received the 2016 Corporate Leadership Award.

The NABEF President's Special Award was presented to the Arizona Broadcasters Association for a half-hour special on the devestating effect of heroin.

The 2016 Service to America Award for Television was presented to KWTX-TV Waco, Texas, in recognition of the station’s excellence in serving its local community.
