Inside Edition's Deborah Norville to Emcee Celebration of Service to America Awards Gala

WASHINGTON, DC -- Deborah Norville, host of the nation's top-rated syndicated newsmagazine "Inside Edition," will serve as master of ceremonies for the NAB Education Foundation's (NABEF) thirteenth annual Celebration of Service to America Awards, held Monday, June 6, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The celebration recognizes broadcasters for outstanding service to their local communities.

Norville has more than three decades of broadcast journalism experience, including serving 16 years as anchor at "Inside Edition." Considered one of the most recognizable personalities on television today, Norville joined "Inside Edition" from "CBS News," where she anchored "America Tonight" and also reported for "48 Hours," "Street Stories" and "CBS Evening News." Prior to that, she was co-anchor for NBC's "The Today Show," having joined NBC as anchor of "NBC News at Sunrise."

A two-time Emmy Award-winner, author and philanthropist, Norville is active in a number of charities. She has been the National Celebrity Spokesperson for the Mother's March of Dimes, a director for Girl Scout Council of Greater New York, a board member of the Broadcasters Foundation of America, and served on the Steering Committee for the Rita Hayworth (Alzheimer's) Gala.

As previously announced, Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges will receive the 2011 Service to America Leadership Award, NABEF's highest honor, for his dedication to ending childhood hunger in America. Target Corp. will receive the Corporate Leadership Award for their extraordinary focus on community service and corporate social responsibility.
