Melony Hughes

Melony Hughes joined the National Association of Broadcasters Educational Foundation (NABEF) in 2016 as the Education Program Coordinator. She is responsible for the overall planning and execution of the NABEF educational initiatives including Media Sales Institute, Technology Apprenticeship Program and Leadership Development Program. In her role she works to increase training, opportunity and diversity in the broadcast industry.

Prior to her position at NABEF, she was formerly employed at the United Negro College Fund (UNCF.) There she worked directly on leadership & development programming for the Bill & Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship Program. She spearheaded effective social media campaigns that increased student engagement and managed multiple online community platforms. In addition, she coordinated logistics for conferences and special events.

Melony is originally from Pittsburgh and graduated from Point Park University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
